 China, led by the Communist Party, has over 40,000 mosques in 2010. This number increased from the previous year 5000 mosques. So says the Vice Chairman of the Islamic Association of China, Guo Chengzhen.

"We estimate there are 40,000 mosques in China," says Guo who was accompanied by Mustafa Yang Zhibo, vice chairman of the association, when receiving the visit of the journalists Indonesia and Malaysia, in Beijing on Wednesday.
